The Secret Circle - Small Screen Review

The Secret Circle - Small Screen Review

Episode 4 Review - Heather

Since the revelation of Cassie’s mother doing something to her friend Heather and the fact that they were together when the fire happened that killed the others. The circle is now more intent on finding out what happened

Cassie starts looking for Heather Barnes and when she finally locates Heather's brother, Wade, Cassie and Adam go to his house and try and get answers. They soon find out that Heather has not moved in the sixteen years since the fire. Cassie and Adam notice a burned scar in the shape of a symbol. Cassie recognizes it from her moms Book of Shadows.

Cassie then tells Adam about finding her own family's Book of Shadows and tells him that she wants to reverse the spell or break it. Adam helps her but then Diana walks in on them and forbids Adam to help Cassie. Faye then wanders in tells Cassie that she is willing to help. So she and Cassie try the reversal spell and it ends up going terribly wrong, as Diana predicted. What I liked here is seeing that not only is Faye a bad and mean character yet has some redeeming qualities. She wants to learn what happened to their parents all those years ago in the fire as much as Cassie and the rest of the group. Although I still say that Diana is secretly evil and is up to no good. And here is why.

Diana and Adam figure out that the sigil on Heather's wrist has something to do with demons and Dark Magic. With the glances into her Book of Shadows it seems like it has a lot of evil things in it. Demon pictures, curses and overall has a dark tone to it. While Cassie’s has nicer pictures and diagrams of plants and what not, all positive things.

Meanwhile, Heather breaks into Cassie's house looking for help and reveals that the sigil and spell Amelia put on Heather binds the demon inside her to stop it from hurting anyone. The demon in Heather takes over and she attacks Cassie and Faye but when the rest of the Circle arrive to help, Heather escapes. And soon gets hit by a car when she stops in the middle of the road after being confronted by her brother. As the paramedics take the body away, the demon 'snake' is shown to be slithering into Nick's jacket - and Melissa's ear later that night while she's sleeping with Nick.

Seems like this show has been getting better and better as it goes along. I like that a lot. Considering shows tend to give you the best early on to hook you in and then just assume that you will turn in for the rest of the season without trying. The Secret Circle has been getting better and better and we see that the cast are getting into a groove and it shows.
