The Spot News: More Transformers?

--Robert Acosta

I, like almost everyone else was under the impression that the last Transformers film was really the last Transformers film (at least for a while anyway). Don't get me wrong, Dark of the Moon was the saving grace of the series, still flawed, but much better overall. Ending off there would be a decent place to leave off, at least until someone else picks it up with a better vision of it. Why this series has to continue? I don't know.

Well Paramount must know why the series has to continue because they're pushing really hard for not just a 4th part but a 5th part to be shot right after part 4. To me, I never liked the idea of shooting 2 movies back to back. You don't know what your first movie is going to be so to be shooting a 2nd movie before the 1st releases, it seems short-sided. Paramount could care less.

What made me groan to this news is a lot of the members involved with the previous Transformers films wouldn't be in it, at least the main ones anyway. Michael Bay has said that he's going to focus on other upcoming projects. Shia LaBeouf said he's not in. You know who may be in that Paramount really wants? Jason Statham. That may be a fight right there, the Transformer vs. the Transporter. Of course he wouldn't be fighting machines. What would a Transformers film look like without LaBeouf and Bay involved so quickly?
