As it happens all the time in America, when a big scandal happens, Hollywood is on alert. Less than a year removed from the Penn State child sex abuse scandal, a movie is in the works to follow Joe Paterno.
What exactly will be covered in this movie? Nothing has been said of this movie except for Al Pacino being cast as Joe Paterno. But the obvious answer would be, the sex abuse scandal will be front and center. Hollywood is ready to milk this story for every penny it's worth, and I couldn't despise a movie idea more than I do this one.
For a movie of this class, personal views have to be taken in consideration. I have, and always will be, on Joe Paternos side, and I can only hope a movie like this does not get made.
While i'll never be a fan of the Twilight series and everything surrounding it, it's partly my job to bring things like this to you. Last night at the MTV VMAs, a new trailer/clip premiered of Breaking Dawn part 2 (the end is near!!).
It looks like it's going to be packing some more action than usual, which is going to attract about 0 new fans. Nonetheless, i'm sure people will rejoice about it being over more than the sad fans will cry about it.
Since the release of the hit comic/action/comedy flick Kick Ass, details have been somewhat mum on Kick Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. So, let's catch you up.
Kick Ass 2 does have a release date. Right now, it's scheduled to drop on June 28th, 2013.
In terms of casting, Aaron Johnson (Kick Ass himself), Chloe Moretz (the ever popular, Hit Girl) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist) are all set to return for the sequel.
In terms of new casting, we have a few veteran actors joining. John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut and Donald Faison have all signed on for roles in the film.
In terms of the newest cast member, as of today, we have a big name joining their crew. Jim Carrey has signed on to play Colonel Stars.
Take that news as you will, Kick Ass 2 looks like it's coming full swing.
It's sad to report things like this, Michael Clarke Duncan passing at the age of 54. Duncan suffered a heart attack a couple of months back and was still rehabbing from that and was not able to make a full recovery.
It's sad on a few levels. Sad because of how young he was, how he looked to have a clean bill of health and sad because he was a great actor who seemed to have his head on straight, remained out of the tabloids, from all the negative press.
Duncan is best known for his roles the movies: The Green Mile, Sin City, Planet of the Apes and Armageddon. Rest in Peace, Michael Clarke Duncan.
With "The Avengers" continuing to break records with a $207.1 million opening weekend box office take
and a staggering $441.5 million overseas, fans are already chomping at
the bit for the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's
premiere superhero team -- and according to The Hollywood Reporter,
they're likely going to get it. Yesterday, during a conference call
with analysts to discuss quarterly earnings, Disney CEO Bob Iger
announced that "The Avengers 2" is in the works with an unannounced
release date following Marvel Studios' "Iron Man 3," "Thor 2" and
"Captain America 2."
So here is the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man. Really great trailer giving us some nice looks at Lizard and Spider-Man's acrobatics/web slinging. Also nice to see some story coming out of it instead of just action shots. I wonder how much of Peter's parents and their past will be shown and are part of the movie.
Here are two official stills of the Lizard. One hand and one in his iconic white lab coat. The stills comes form the new trailer that will be released later on today.
Seems the other day the Aliens that make up Loki's army in The Avengers were some random aliens from the Marvel universe. Now that the movies premiere has come and gone, new information has popped up that they are indeed Skrulls or a kind of a Skrull. Because they’re the Chitauri, the Ultimate Comics version of the Skrull. (With some obvious movie magic editing to make them look better.)
Now this fits along the line that the Marvel Movies have mixed both the regular Marvel Universe along with it's Ultimate Marvel Universe. But to be honest they should have just stuck with Skrulls. A lot more recognizable than the Chitauri.
There is some news floating around that Ben Kingsley is in line to be cast for Iron Man 3 and quite possibly to play Mandarin. But then other news bits says it is not the Mandarin but someone else that will spread a virus through nanobots.
SO according to Bleedingcool.com: Kingsley won’t be the “main villain”
And that his character might be The Mandarin, just a version that’s be reconfigured somewhat to fit the storyline.
Well to be honest Ben Kingsley as Mandarin would be a good choice. And with the rumor that Iron Man 3 will adapt in a way the Extremis story expect some new cool armor for the title character.
The Movie Spot: A Secret Ending Just Filmed For Avengers

At the red-carpet premiere, Robert Downey Jr. let slip that the film wasn't finished yet, leaving everyone wondering if he was serious or not. Then, Mark Ruffalo confirmed the rumor, saying, "We're shooting a scene tonight. I'm not sure exactly where it's gonna go. All I know is that someone came in with the costume and said, 'Here's some wardrobe. We don't know where you're going to be or what you're doing.'"
The mysterious scene was shot last night, which will be incorporated into the film when it premieres on May 4th. Which would make it a second after movie scene from what I have read.
What could it be? Another teaser for another Marvel film like previous after-credit scenes? Or could it be a tease for an Avengers sequel? Now the wait until May 4th.
The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios’ sequel to the blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger on April 4, 2014. The second installment will pick-up where the highly anticipated Marvel’s The Avengers (May 4, 2012)leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world.
Now I know there is a short list of directors going around, so that should be announced any day now. But I wonder if they are going to do some "time jumps" in the sequel. Modern day and some WW2 scenes? And what about the villain? I personally would like to see Baron Zemo or Crossbones. Maybe some Arnim Zola for some fun.
The Spot News: New Avengers TV Spot Gives A Great View OF Loki's Army
Nice TV spot and even reveals a great close up shot of the aliens/nine realms/WTF? that Loki is using to attack the Avengers. Still not clear who or what they are from the vast library of Marvel villians and creatures. Still nice.

Sony Pictures Animation has released the first official trailer for director Genndy Tartakovsky’s Hotel Transylvania, which stars Adam Sandler as the voice of Dracula, a hotelier whose plans for his daughter’s 118th birthday party are thrown into turmoil by the arrival of a human.
The movie, which opens Sept. 28, also features the voices of Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, Molly Shannon and Cee Lo Green.
Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
Well here is the new S Shield for Superman and what may be the official logo for the Man Of Steel movie.
I see they are going for darker tones of the red and yellow, looks almost orange. I am not sure if the background is supposed to represent the normal blue from the suit or just a normal background for the Shield. If it is the 'blue suit" then it way to dark and gray.
Otherwise I like it. I know it is a different take on Superman, trying to go along with the new look in the comics, but the shield looks cool. It makes a statement. Now I just need to get over the no red undies thing.
Mary Harron, director of AMERICAN PSYCHO, has already proven that she knows her way around horror and sex. Her latest film, THE MOTH DIARIES, looks to combine both in an interesting twist on the vampire myth.
Here's the story: At an all-girls boarding school, Rebecca (Sarah Bolger) is suspicious of Ernessa (Lily Cole), a beautiful new arrival forming a mysteriously close bond with her beloved best friend Lucie (Sarah Gadon).
