He explains that if he did not place a bid on the beach house, Victoria would have won because she out bid Emily. Nolan states that the deed of the house is in Emily's name-as a birthday gift for Amanda.
One night, during her investigation of Bill Harmon's false testimony against her father (Bill stated that her father had given money to 9/11 terrorists who were responsible for the 9/11 tragedies and deaths of 240 Americans on board the plane), Victoria calls her and invites her for tea the next day. She then takes him to his house and Daniel surprises her with a housewarming party. At the party, Emily tells Nolan that Bill Harman is ruined and shows a new cast on her cell phone of Bill's investor's pulling out of his company.
