The best of 2009 and a look forward to 2010

So I wanted to reflect on the 2009 year of movies before we all ring in 2010! Year after year i've always made a list of the best movies of each year and now for the first time ever, i get to share my list of the best movies of 2009 with the public. Granted, I did not see every movie this year so movies like the blind side, 500 days of summer and precious are not on this list. I'm sure those were great movies but I personally have not checked them out yet. So I give to you my list of the 41 best movies of 2009(41 is an odd number I know but just bare with me.)

2009 was a great year of movies, featuring some of the best and worst movies of the decade. Were there surprises on this list? definitely. Zombieland was surprisingly fresh, original and hilarious, something I didn't completely expect. Fired Up was much funnier than most give it credit for, it was one of those movies that you see just to have a good time. Whip it was also very unexpected and fresh, I left the theater being completely entertained.

In the end Sherlock Holmes was the best movie of the year. Not hands down but I had a hard time arguing against putting it number 1. I personally knew nothing about Sherlock Holmes before this movie and really don't know too much about him now. Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law worked seamlessly together and at times showed more chemistry then the characther Rachel Mcadams played with Holmes. The action scenes were not over the top and the logic, for the most part, made sense. Sherlock Holmes definitely put a cap on what was a great 2009 in movies.

What can we expect from the 2010 year of movies? Hopefully exactly what 2009 showed us, if not more. Movies like Clash of the titans, Iron man 2 and part 1 of the last installment of Harry Potter are already looking like they'll crack the top 5 list of next years "best of" list. Only time will tell.

The First Post

Ahh the first post is always exciting. This is usually the part where someone would go off into details about themself, what they like, what they do for a living and blah blah blah. Not me. This blog isn't in any way, shape or form about me. The only one thing I will share with you about me is that I love movies. I am an avid movie watcher. Whether I go out to my local theater and watch a couple movies or if i'm home relaxing watching dvds, I love movies. The most relaxing thing in the world to me, is sitting down and watching a movie. Now I would like to share one more thing about myself. Whenever I do anything, I don't half ass it. I put 100% of my focus into any and everything I do. If you haven't noticed by now, this is gonna be a blog about movies. For the year 2010, I vow to review all the movies I possibly can, preview all the movies I possibly can and notify you of what to watch and what not to watch. Alright movie lovers, get ready for a packed and exciting year of movies in 2010!
