Weekend Box Office Numbers December 10th-12th

By: Robert Acosta

Had a feeling that Narnia would be taking the top spot, glad I came through on that prediction.

Now in the middle of December, there isn't many good movies to be talking about. All that is going to change next week and I cannot wait for that.

Until then, let's review what happened this past weekend with the box office numbers:

  1. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader   $24.5 Million
  2. The Tourist   $17 Million
  3. Tangled   $14.6 Million
  4. Harry Potter 7: Part 1   $8.5 Million
  5. Unstoppable   $3.8 Million
  6. Black Swan   $3.3 Million
  7. Burlesque   $3.2 Million
  8. Love & Other Drugs   $3 Million
  9. Due Date   $2.5 Million
  10. Megamind   $2.5 Million
Though The Tourist has been received as a crappy movie, it made decent money but I hear the budget was at $100 million. So, it may be safe to say, The Tourist won't be making too much profit.

The top 10 is destined to change next week with 3 big releases next week. Tron: Legacy, Yogi Bear and The Fighter look to be going 1-3 in that order. All 3 look to be great movies to check out, with Yogi Bear and The Fighter I know they are great movies. Tron just looks tremendously good.

If they're were ever a weekend to go to the movies, it would be this upcoming one.
