Weekend Box Office Numbers December 17th-19th

By: Robert Acosta

The final weeks of the year are upon us and with that came a few good movies this past weekend. With TRON, Yogi Bear, The Fighter and....and...How Do You Know....all out, it was bound to be a good weekend. Well, a good weekend for TRON...and not anyone else.

Let's take a look at this past weekends box office numbers:

  1. TRON: Legacy   $43.6 Million
  2. Yogi Bear   $16.7 Million
  3. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Dawn Treaders Voyage   $12.4 Million
  4. The Fighter   $12.2 Million
  5. The Tourist   $8.7 Million
  6. Tangled   $8.7 Million
  7. Black Swan   $8.3 Million
  8. How Do You Know   $7.6 Million
  9. Harry Potter 7: Part 1   $4.8 Million
  10. Unstoppable   $1.8 Million
Tron was going to make a lot of money this weekend. That is a fact. Though, I expected something much more spectacular than 43 Million. I mean both Tangled and Megamind made more in their opening weekends than Tron. Not that that's embarassing but for a movie with such hype as Tron had, I expected more.

Also thought the same for Yogi Bear, it being a family movie and all. Disappointments all around!

Next weekend is Christmas so movies will be coming out on Wednesday, with the exception of Gullivers Travels. True Grit and Little Fockers being the headliners really.
