The Spot News: Marvel planning ahead

By: Robert Acosta

Quick note before I jump into news: I love the picture above! Really get to see the huge Marvel world and all its glory.

Anyway, to the news.

Marvel movies have been dominating the box office this year, grossing almost 500 Million dollars between Thor, Captain America and X-Men: First Class. Next year they bring us The Avengers, which may make just as much as all 3 of the movies above combined made. 2013 we'll see Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. So I know what you're thinking. What's coming in 2014?!

Well to be honest, we still don't know. What we do know is that Marvel has grabbed 2 spots in the 2014 Summer movie season, which means big things. May 16th and June 27th of 2014 have both been reserved for Marvel films. What could we be getting? It's hard to say because so many movies have been rumored. In fact, look at some of the possibilities we could have for those 2 spots in 2014:

Ant Man, Deadpool, another X-Men film, Fantastic Four reboot, Daredevil reboot, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Luke Cage.

If I were a betting man, I would say that Deadpool is one of the movies for those 2 spots. The movie has been in limbo for a little while now thanks to the Ryan Reynolds/Green Lantern sequels fiasco but sooner or later, Deadpool will be happening. I haven't a clue about what the 2nd movie could be. I'm hoping for a Fantastic Four reboot, which has already been talked about. Somebody has to get that right.
