The Lost Boys 3 - The Thirst DVD “Trick or Treat” Review

By Jose

Plot:

The thankless life of a vampire hunter has taken its toll on Edgar Frog. After losing best friend and fellow vamp fighter...

Review:

This should have been exactly what we got for Part 2. Obviously there is decidedly a lot more Corey Feldman content... but I don't think people are prepared for how much heart this movie has. There are several flashbacks that feature Corey Haim that are really heartbreaking in light of what you and I know in reality.

With that said I did enjoy this for what it was. A straight to DVD, third part, of a movie that really did not need one. Especially over twenty years later. The gore was great, the vampire deaths were decent, and the overall action was well done. The dialogue wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it would be. The story itself made sense with nods throughout that connected to the first one. It was funny seeing the Frog brothers back together and still crazy. The ending did feel rushed and a bit “everywhere”. Also I felt they spent a lot of time on Edgar (Corey F.) and his antics while the vampire parts was just stuck in there. What I really did like was the very end where we get a glimpse into what may be a possible new repackaged version of the Lost Boys involving werewolves.

Final Thoughts:

A little undecided about the ending, and what "future direction" that could lead to, but things are suitably bookended thus far for the existing trilogy. If your a fan of the original movie and already seen the second part, go ahead and see this as well.

Rated 2.5 out of 5
