I was wondering when they were going to announce the villain for the Spider-Man reboot. It seems like they're number one priority(after casting Spider-Man of course) was the love interest. Writers and fans alike didn't like the decision of worrying so much about the love interest over the villain but nonetheless, it happened.
Once Emma Stone was cast as Gwen Stacy, all that was left was the villain. With the casting of Rhys Ifans we all suspected that we were going to know what role he was going to play right then and there. But no. We were teased yet again.
Now, we finally have the villain for Spidey and the role Rhys Ifans will be playing. Ifans will be playing Dr. Conners, The Lizard!
This comes as no surprise because that was mostly the plan for Spider-Man 4(before it was thrown into re-boot mode). Lets see how everything else plays out now that all the important cast has been put together.
