The Spot News: New Director Candidates for Superman

By: Robert Acosta

So the endless tale of Superman is finally looking for some directors. It seems like so long ago that Superman Returns hit the theaters, received very good reviews and then a sequel(or reboot?) got lost along the way. It seems like they're going the route of a reboot(who isn't these days?) and I, among many others, am confused.

Nonetheless, another Superman movie is eventually on the way and directors are being looked at. 5 to be exact. Those 5 are: Tony Scott, Zack Snyder, Matt Reeves, Duncan Jones and Johnathan Liebesman.

To give you some credentials on these guys...Matt Reeves has directed Cloverfield and Let Me in(coming out soon I might add), Duncan Jones has only directed a movie called Moon, Johnathan Liebesman directed both Darkness Falls and more recently the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Tony Scott has Man On Fire under his belt and finally, Zack Snyder has Watchmen on his resume.

A nice wide range of choices here but who is most suited to take on this daunting task?(See what I did there?) It's hard to come up with a clear cut choice. Snyder having done Watchmen already has some experience with comic book adaptations, even if it was a boring one. Liebesman on the other hand has more experience with darker stories, if Superman goes in that direction.

Which ever way it goes, this all makes for interesting news.
