Machete Review

By: Robert Acosta

Cast:
Danny Trejo as Machete
Jessica Alba as Sartana
Michelle Rodriguez as Luz
Jeff Fahey as Booth

Plot: After the guys who hired him turn their back on him, Machete is out for revenge against his ex-boss and anyone who stands in his way.

Review: Machete is one of those fun movies that could be taken seriously as a full out action movie. At the same time, you can just look at it for all the fun ways someone dies and have a good time with it. The movie really does a good job of offering both options.

Machete features an interesting cast filled with beautiful girls and Danny Trejo. I'm sure some people only saw the movie just for Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and even the return of Lindsay Lohan. I can't blame them, that was my initial reason too. Machete offers a lot more than just great eye candy and good action.

The story is pretty decent, it all makes sense. A man gets hired to kill someone, unknowingly gets set up as the fall man, police are after him, he goes on a rampage to get revenge. Nothing too complex, no Inception here folks.

I've mentioned this a couple times already but the action is what makes the movie so fun. The non stop killing, almost comedic, is really what makes it stand out. Danny Trejo may have put himself in the badass conversation. Had both Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez on top of him, murdered practically everyone(including a famous 80's action star) and used many different weapons to do so. Hell, the guy calls himself Machete. Bad ass.

If you're looking for a good way to just sit back, relax for 1 hour and 45 minutes, I can't really think of a better way than to just go out and watch Machete.

Rating: 4 out of 5
