The Spot News: Justin Lin, The Next Big Thing

By: Robert Acosta

Yeah, if you had a pulse at any point during the summer, you know that Fast Five was a big hit. Techinically, it was the first blockbuster of the summer, and it came out a couple weeks before summer officially started. Fast Five has brought in $210 Million, and all the household names in the film were all recognized for their good job. But one guy who is really seeing his career rise is director Justin Lin.

Now, Lin has directed Fast and Furious movies before having directed both Tokyo Drift and 2009s Fast and Furious along with Fast Five. But now, after the success of Fast Five, Lin has been asked to direct (and really resurrect) the next Die Hard movie, a Highlander reboot, and the next Terminator film. And though he will be a part of the next Terminator film, it won't be the next piece of work we'll be seeing from him. He's gonna stick with what he knows, and get another Fast and Furious movie out there.

The next Fast and Furious film is scheduled for 2013, so i'm not sure what Lin will be doing in 2012. Either way, the Fast and Furious series is in good hands.
