Vampire Diaries - Small Screen Review

Vampire Diaries - Small Screen Review

Episode 3 Review

Ah a flashback episode. Nice way to establish what a mean killer Stefan was. Eating and killing his way through Chicago. But that is not all. Seems that he met Klaus during his time in Chicago. Not only Klaus but also his sister Rebecca (Claire Holt). So while searching for a super powerful witch named Gloria (Charmin Lee) who might be able to explain why Klaus wasn’t able to create more half-breeds last week we get the flashbacks.

Things appeared to go smoothly for awhile until a mysterious assailant popped up to kill, Klaus and Rebecca causing Klaus to compel Stefan to forget they ever met. So imagine Stefan’s surprise when he learns that he used to be super chummy with the guy he was trying to outrun all of last season. After talking things over with Gloria to figure out why breaking the curse didn’t seem to work the way Klaus had hoped, she reveals that they’ll need to contact the witch who created the original curse. This witch is obviously long dead so in order to talk with her Gloria will need a little help and said help can come from Rebecca.

Since they had to wait for her to awaken from her stabbing (Klaus staked her to protect her from getting killed) we then get shunted to Damon getting a call from Katharine telling him to find Stefan in Chicago. He brings Elena with him to try and bring Stefan back. After a close call at Stefan’s old apartment he and Elena finally meet and he tell her to move one and not to waste her time trying to bring him back and save him. We then learn that Rebecca had a necklace they, Klaus and Stefan, needed in order to contact the long dead witch. Had being the key word since we were shown that it broke off in Chicago long ago. But we know that that same necklace is now around Elena’s neck. Given to her by good Stefan. Uh oh.

Caroline gets tortured by her father, who is attempting to associate pain with vampirism. So Caroline won’t feed anymore. Her father uses direct sunlight to burn her. Thankfully her mom and Tyler find her and save her.

Sadly no Matt And Jeremy this episode. I really wanted to see more ghost stuff between them. Until next week then.
