The Spot News: Call Of Duty Zombies

The Spot News: Call Of Duty Zombies

Call of Duty: Black Ops, one of the most popular games on the planet, has a unique online co-op mode in which up to four players fend off wave after wave of zombies. There’s no end point to the mode, you simply survive as long as you can using whatever tools are available on the map you’ve selected to play through.

But what does this have to do with movies? Well today brings a new downloadable content pack to the game which adds, among other things, the new zombies map, “Call of the Dead.” Activision has released a trailer focused specifically on that map, which apparently pays homage to Night of the Living Dead director George A. Romero. It’s more than that, though: Romero is actually in the game, likeness, voice and all, with a story that seems to revolve around some kind of zombie movie production that goes horribly, horribly wrong.

But it is not just Romero that is in the game. Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), Danny Trejo (Machete), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), and Michael Rooker also lend there likeness and voices as playable characters.

The zombie level will be available as downloadable content for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" on Xbox Live, May 3 from Activision and Treyarch.
