Review: Every year we talk about a couple of movies, or more, that we think should have never been made. Mostly due to it being an unwanted sequel. The hype built around the Hangover Part II was just that, the unwanted sequel talk but that didn't stop it from still being itself.

Hangover Part II doesn't really bring anything new to the table. Someone is getting married, the gang celebrates, celebrates too hard and wakes up missing someone, not remembering anything that happened the prior night. It's the same formula. But for me, it works.

Bradley Cooper returns as the calm headed, brains of the group. He brings the occasional laugh but really, he just guides the story along. Ed Helms is the not as level headed member, who things just seem to happen to and panics very quickly. He ends up being pretty hilarious throughout the movie, mostly because he gets put in the more awkward, raunchy positions. And of course, Zack Galifinakis is the comedic uplift if you will. He brings the subtle, sometimes awkward and out of place comedy.

Critics may bash Hangover Part II for being the exact film, but why try to change what works? Most people loved the first film, just change the scenery, add some new jokes and you've for yourself a sequel. Don't go and try to reinvent the wheel and fail with this movie.

Despite what you will hear, The Hangover Part II is funny. I'll agree with most when they say that the original is funnier, because it is. The 2nd part however isn't that far off. It doesn't feature as many laugh out loud as the original, but there is enough there for enjoyment. Good jokes, good scenes, lots more of Mr. Chow than the first film.

Overall, The Hangover Part II doesn't change the game, but just adds to it. Should there be another one? Probably not. As for this one, it's a solid R rated comedy worth checking out.

Rating: 4 out of 5
