Weekend Box Office Numbers November 26th-28th

By: Robert Acosta

In the last week of November, it's expected that a few movies are going to come out. Most of the time they aren't too good but i'm sure these movies this week had their ups and downs. Though I still think that Faster should be mostly avoided.

Let's check out this past Thanksgiving weekends box office numbers:

  1. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1   $50.3 Million
  2. Tangled   $49.1 Million
  3. Megamind   $12.9 Million
  4. Burlesque   $11.8 Million
  5. Unstoppable   $11.7 Million
  6. Love and Other Drugs   $9.9 Million
  7. Faster   $8.7 Million
  8. Due Date   $7.3 Million
  9. The Next Three Days   $4.8 Million
  10. Morning Glory   $4 Million
I'm not at all surprised that Harry Potter took the top spot again. What does surprise me is that it barely got by Tangled. I believe Tangled was in 3D, so it definitely got that high due to the 3D pricing. Nonetheless, $49 Million is still a lot, even with the 3D inflation.

Love and Other Drugs has been disappointing in the box office, which sucks because that is one of the better movies of this year. Though, i'm sure this movie didn't cost all that much to make and hopefully, they break even and profit.

Next week is shaping up to be the same as this week, maybe some flip flopping. But for the most part, I don't see the top 10 changing.
