Weekend Box Office Numbers August 20-22

With movies like Vampires Suck, The Lottery Ticket, Piranha 3D, Nanny McPhee Returns and The Switch, the #1 movie from last week was bound to be knocked off the top spot right? Wrong!

Let's take a look at the Box Office Numbers for this weekend:

1. The Expendables $16.5 Million
2. Vampires Suck $12.2 Million
3. Eat, Pray, Love $12 Million
4. The Lottery Ticket $11.1 Million
5. The Other Guys $10.1 Million
6. Piranha 3D $10 Million
7. Nanny McPhee Returns $8.3 Million
8. The Switch $8.1 Million
9. Inception $7.7 Million
10. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World $5 Million

Not a ton of money making here, at least in comparison to other weeks. Making millions of anything is still pretty good.

Glad to see both The Other Guys and Inception still making money because they definitely both deserve it. On the other hand, Scott Pilgrim went down considerable from last week and in total has made and underwhelming $20.7 Million. Sad to see because it was a tremendous movie.

Funny to see Vampires Suck at the number 2 spot, probably held back from being number 1 thanks to all the twilight fans boycotting the movie. Dammit.

Next week seems like another slow week so movies like The Expendables and maybe even Piranha 3D may manage to stay within the top 5. Honestly the next 5 weeks look pretty slow but money will be made!
