The River - Small Screen Review

Episode 3- "Los Ciegos"

When the Magus crew disturbs a tree's spores and goes blind, camera operator AJ Poulain must find a cure and face his fear before the team becomes blind permanently. Meanwhile, the crew is stalked by the local Morcego tribe, who is judging whether they are worthy to stay or face the fatal consequences. Creepy looking tribes people that look like they have no eyes. Just dark hollow holes.

Episode 4- "A Better Man"

The Magus team meets one of Emmet's colleagues, who disappeared six months ago, and discovers that he's been the victim of a mystical curse, which is a matter of life or death. When the others plan to leave and continue the mission, Lincoln must face this challenge and be the moral compass. The young camera man videos a sacred elder death, which he was told not too. He “steals” the soul and is cursed to hang between life and death. He is put back into that position to hang forever in pain yet due to his willingness to sacrifice himself for the crew he is set free along with the soul.

Episode 5 - "Peaches"

The Magus crew comes across another vessel, only to learn that the seemingly welcoming crew members have a very different agenda; and a shocking discovery leaves one crew member in tears. Lena finds her father captured on this mysterious crews boat. Turns out the crew are living dead needing others to replace them on their “ghost ship”. They capture a few of the crew along with Lena. The other crew find them in time to escape. But since Lenas’ father has been with them he is also a spirit. He can’t leave the ship. The ship burns as Lena’s father burns free.
