Awake - Small Screen Review

Awake - Small Screen Review

Episode Three - “Guilty”

Rex is kidnapped by John Cooper (Clifton Powell), an escaped convict that Michael arrested 10 years ago. But when he tries to bargin with Cooper to get to his son Cooper is shot dead. This prompts Michael to start an investigation in Michael's other reality. The one where his wife is alive. But it gets in the way of an event honoring his deceased son. He has to choose to go to the event or find the information he needs to help find his son in the green reality. Michael leaves his wife to attend and runs off to talk to Cooper. Clues from both realities lead to Michael's sanity being questioned. Michael's old retired partner Jim Mayhew (William Russ) is called in to help with the case, until Michael learns why he is really involved again. Turns out that Jim Mayhew set up Cooper in order to steal lots of money. It seemed like it was a lie but Jim finally relents to Michael’s questioning and tells the truth. Michael frees Cooper in the red reality and gets the information/location of the shack in the desert. Michael then in the green reality saves his son. He also gets to hear a message Rex leaves for him. In the wife reality, Hannah asks Michael if he found the boy and saved him. Michael, after a bit of reflection, says yes. And that he is happy Rex was being honored and sorry he could not attend.
