For the third week in a row, an animated film takes the top spot. Is that a record? Hell if I know but it's kind of remarkable. Considering that some decent non animated films have come out in the past couple weeks, it is remarkable.

I didn't expect Rio to make that much money though, Very good release for them. Scream 4 did OK, though it only ranked 3 in the series in terms of opening weekend numbers. I'm guessing the long layoff between parts 3 and 4 proved to be hurtful for the series rather than a breath of fresh air.

Your Highness, a really funny movie(though not hilarious) is hanging by a thread. Now The Conspirator came out of nowhere to vault into the top 10. I don't make much of that, but it's noteworthy.

Water for Elephants and Madeas Big Happy Family make their way to the big screen. No doubt in my mind that Madea will find her way back on top.
