The Losers

The Losers

By Jose

Plot

After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination.

Review

Before I start with my review I want to say a couple of things. The Losers was better than what everyone has been saying a writing. Could it have been better of course. All movies ever made regardless of how much money, who directed it, and how much love and admiration it gets, all could be better. Some more than others. Another thing that hurt the Losers was comparing it to the A Team, which is being released within months of each other. Similar yes but totally different. One is a remake of a old TV series the other is a comic book. Plus there's no way one can go into a movie and enjoy it when they've already convinced themselves they are going to hate it.

Now on to the movie. Starts off meeting the team played by Jeffery Dean Morgan (Clay), Chris Evans (Jensen), Idirs Elba (Rogue), Columbus Short (Pooch), and Oscar Jaenada (Cougar), The Losers. They are on a mission to target a drug lord and blow up the area. They see kids being brought in and attempt to call off the strike but some shady, crooked individual named Max (Jason Patric) tells them to do what they are there to do regardless of the kids. So The Losers break off and save the kids. But is seems that Max has other plans. The helicopter that would extract the team can only take the kids and not them while flying off the helicopter get blown up with the kids in it. They vow to get revenge on Max yet the team is stranded in another country and presumed dead. Then enters Aisha played by Zoe Saldana. She also wants Max dead for her own reasons and wants the Losers to help.

From here on out we get hijacked military helicopters, shoot outs and explosions, funny moments provide by Pooch (Short) and Jensen (Evans). I really like Jensen’s scene when he is sent to get codes for this hard drive and his love of the Petunia’s, his nieces soccer team. We get some double crossing, experimental “green” super weapons, just down right great action. All the actors did a great job and the movie itself was fun.

Final Thoughts

Overall The Losers was not given it’s due. People seem to have this need to hate movies and yet they still go out and see it just so they can bash it yet again. That is where that quote from earlier comes from. There's no way one can go into a movie and enjoy it when they've already convinced themselves they are going to hate it.
Stop this.
Really.
Every movie made will not be masterpieces. Movies are to entertain if the movie did not live up to it they so be it. But don’t start hating it before you actually see it. I may say what I say about films before I see it. I am guilty. But if I end up seeing one of those movies I forget all that and start fresh. Once the film is over and I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t enjoy it and vice versa. So once again movies like the Losers are not going to be blockbuster films they are made to entertain. So yes regardless of what everyone says I liked The Losers.
