The Spot News: Prometheus First Look

Entertainment Weekly has debuted the official first look at Prometheus, the much-discussed 3D space thriller that marks a return to sci-fi for Alien and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott.

Written by Lost‘s Damon Lindelof and The Darkest Hour’s Jon Spaihts, the $100 million Fox film has a connection to Scott’s 1979 classic Alien. As the director himself said earlier this month, the last few minutes of Prometheus morph into “a pretty good DNA of the Alien one.”

While stopping short of calling the film an Alien prequel, star Michael Fassbender tells EW, “There’s definitely a link to Alien. There’s creatures in it that you’ll recognize.”

Also starring Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace, the top-secret epic follows a team of scientists whose spaceship Prometheus becomes stranded on a distant planet. The film opens Jun
