The Walking Dead - Small Screen Review
The Walking Dead - Small Screen Review
Episode Seven - Pretty Much Dead Already
Glenn reveals to the group about the walkers in the barn, and everyone goes nuts wanting to go in and kill them, especially Shane. Rick discusses the matter with Hershel, trying to convince him to let the group stay, especially since his wife is pregnant. Hershel wants them out by the end of the week. Even going as far as saying that he gave them a place to stay and helped them; his conscience is clear.
Meanwhile, Dale tries but fails to hide Shane's guns in the swamp. Another confrontation between them with rifle cocked and aimed at Shane’s chest. Dale submits and tells Shane off telling him that he deserves to be here in this world now. Hershel asks Rick to help him recover some walkers stuck in thick swamp mud, and tells him that his group can stay so long as they do not shoot the walkers (Hershel believes they are sick, and not dead).
As they return, Shane sees the captured walkers and goes berserk. And I mean berserk. After killing the new walkers and telling everyone that these things can’t be human anymore or cured if they can be shot and still be standing. Shane breaks open the barn door, allowing the walkers within to pour out. The group shoots them all. The last walker to emerge from the barn is Sophia. All goes quiet with the group not able to say or lift their guns. They were able to kill Hershel’s dead people but can’t do it when it is one of their own. Rick finally steps up and shoots her in the head. Ending the mid-season finale and leaving us waiting for the return in February.
