Week after week, a blockbuster movie is released and it makes a boat load of money. This week is no different:
- X-Men First Class $56 Million
- The Hangover, Part II $32.4 Million
- Kung Fu Panda 2 $24.3 Million
- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides $18 Million
- Bridesmaids $12.1 Million
- Thor $4.2 Million
- Fast Five $3.2 Million
- Midnight in Paris $2.9 Million
- Jumping the Broom $900 Thousand
- Something Borrowed $800 Thousand
X-men First Class made a splash this weekend, grabbing the top spot and just hitting the mark below $60 Million dollars. On top of that, it got a lot of good reviews so it pretty much had one hell of a weekend. We at The Movie Spot will have a review coming soon, we promise.
Last weeks top money grabbers, Hangover and Kung fu Panda stick around at the number 2 and 3 spots and figure to be sticking around for a while.
Next week, we see Super 8, the mysterious "monster" movie we've been waiting for. Chances are, it makes a big splash at the box office but the fate of Super 8 will rely heavily on word of mouth.
