Vampire Diaries - Small Screen Review

Vampire Diaries - Small Screen Review

Episodes 11 Review - "Our Town"

Although Caroline is in no mood to celebrate her 18th birthday, Elena , Bonnie and Matt surprise her with a small party in an unusual location. They decide to throw her a funeral. To remember who Caroline was before being turned into a vampire, to celebrate her life and to start her new one. And look finally a Matt appearance! Still doesn’t change the fact that it seems Jeremy is leaving but hey it’s Matt.

Damon and Stefan disagree on the best way to handle Klaus, and a reckless Stefan decides to test his theory by taking things to dangerous extremes. Threatening Klaus to get rid of his hybrids or Stefan will kill them all and get rid Klaus’s family for good. Klaus seems to take him serious for a bit but calls his bluff and goes on as normal. Bonnie is concerned when Elena tells her about Jeremy’s new plans. You and me both Bonnie. She feels it is a stupid plan and Elena needs to stop compelling Jeremy to forget things whenever Elena wants. Bonnie seems to want to tell Jeremy what happened but ends up letting him go and not saying anything. Damn it Bonnie you could have saved him.

At a Founder’s meeting, Alaric once again runs into Dr. Fell, who is in the middle of an argument with her ex-boyfriend, the medical examiner who signs off on vampire or supernatural killings as animal attacks. Klaus also gets his claws into the Founder’s when he makes a deal with the Mayor (Tyler’s mom) and a couple of others, that he will protect the town and not do any harm as long as Stefan leaves him and his hybrids alone and brings him his family. The mayor insists that Damon talk Stefan into agreeing or they will have to seek him out and deal with him. Damon actually saves a hybrid from Stefan and tells him to stop for the sake of the town and Elena. Stefan doesn’t listen and kidnaps Elena threatening to turn her to a vampire and killing her where her parents dies inorder to stop Klaus from making more hybrids. Klaus submits and Stefan stops. Elena is angry with him and Stefan just leaves her there.

Tyler refuses to go along with Klaus’ latest demand to bite and kill Caroline, and is surprised when Klaus seems to accept his decision. Yet finds Caroling and kisses her only to “accidentally” bites her. Matt finds her and brings her home. Klaus comes over and wants Matt and the sheriff to let him in to save Caroline. She allows it and Klaus saves Caroline. Telling her hat being a vampire and living for years years is not a bad thing. She is able to go out and see the world discovering new things and “live” unlike a mere mortal could.
