With a weekend seemingly filled with crap movies, it looked like the box office wasn't going to look good this week. For the most part, that statement is true.
Here is this past weekends box office numbers:
1. The Last Exorcism $21.3 Million
2. Takers $21 Million
3. The Expendables $9.5 Million
4. Eat, Pray, Love $7 Million
5. The Other Guys $6.6 Million
6. Vampires Suck $5.3 Million
7. Inception $5.1 Million
8. Nanny McPhee Returns $4.7 Million
9. The Switch $4.6 Million
10. Piranha 3D $4.3 Million
So The Last Exorcism beats out Takers for the top spot in the box office this week....can't you feel the excitement?
I'm more surprised that Inception is still in the top 10 after about 6 weeks since it's release. On the down side, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World got bounced out of the top 10 and is seemingly a bust at the box office.
What does next weekend hold for the box office? Well with movies like Machete, The American and Going The Distance, I have a feeling the top 2 movies this week could be bounced out of the top 5. For movie goers everywhere, lets hope i'm right.
