The Spot News : Locke & Key to the small screen

If current reports are true, Stephen Spielberg may be opening the door to bring IDW's "Locke & Key" series to the small screen very soon.

The comic series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez has been a hot property at IDW nearly since its first issue was published in 2007, and now with three full mini series under its belt, "Locke & Key" may be headed to television. Talks are underway for Spielberg to executive produce the new TV drama via his Dreamworks TV brand with "Transformers" and "Fringe" writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to write along with Josh Friedman.
"Locke & Key," which follows the story of three children who care for a spooky New England mansion whose series of doors takes them to other worlds or gives them mysterious powers, was previously optioned by Dimension Films who lost the rights to Dreamworks in February of this year. The comic's fourth mini series (the first of its "second act") titled "Keys To The Kingdom" recently hit comic shops.

Funny that I was talking about how I would love to see this series made into a television show with Robert this weekend and now I read this article today. I hope that they do justice to the Locke & Key series. Locke & Key has been my favorite non Marvel non DC Comics series that I read and deserving of being made into a feature show. If any of our readers enjoy good supernatural books, I highly recommend the Locke & Key series.
