With the new year came a lot of responsibilities, but that's OK. The Movie Spot is not dead, we're still here.
Since i'm late with this, I won't bother with excuses and all that. We both know what you came here for. Box office numbers from this past weekend!:
- True Grit $15 Million
- Little Fockers $13.8 Million
- Season of the Witch $10.7 Million
- Tron: Legacy $9.8 Million
- Black Swan $8.4 Million
- Country Strong $7.3 Million
- The Fighter $7 Million
- The King's Speech $6.8 Million
- Yogi Bear $6.8 Million
- Tangled $5.2 Million
It wasn't a strong weekend for movies, that is pretty clear. No movie made it to $20 million, which is usually a solid weekend for a movie, unless it's opening. Then you usually want a lot more.
Of the movies above, only Season of the Witch and Country Strong were new and they both didn't do so well. Neither made it to #1, hell neither was even a runner up this week.
A lot of films are still hanging around, which is always good to see. Tangled is hanging by a thread and will most likely be booted out of the top 10 with new movies like Green Hornet and The Dilemma coming out this weekend.
