The Spot: News: Some Extra Shots Of Catwoman

The Spot: News: Some Extra Shots Of Catwoman

Here are a couple of shots of Catwoman to go along with Robert's previous posts. This time featuring Anne Hathaway's stunt double riding the Bat-Bike (ha) down the steps of Gotham City Hall during the Bane/Batman fight. We can get a better look of the costume in these shots too. Looks good to me.

The Spot News: First pic of Catwoman

By: Robert Acosta

Last week, we brought you some new pics from The Dark Knight Rises, mostly featuring Bane but still great pictures nonetheless.

Today, the first pic of Catwoman debuts:

It is, for now, only one picture. Does the costume look extremely different? Yeah. Is that any reason to doubt what director Christopher Nolan is doing? Hell no.

Side Note: I am not sure if it is me but I am not really liking the picture. And what is up with the texture or style of the costume? Looks like scales or some weird diamond pattern. And the face looks off to me. Could be because of the "action" pose. I want to like this but I don't know.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes Review

By: David Guzman

Cast:
James Franco as Will Rodman
Freida Pinto as Caroline Aranha
John Lithgow as Charles Rodman
Monkey as Caesar

Plot: An origin Story set in San Francisco, where James and his genetic engineering leads to a astonishing development of intelligence in Apes which leads to a war for Dominance.

Review: Although I'm pretty sure everyone has seen or heard about a Planet of the Apes movie, you probably have more or less a thought on how this movie will play out. But whether you saw the Crappy Tim Burton version or the Classic Franklin Schaffner version, this movie is worth the trip, time and money to go see. Rise of the Planet of the Apes plays tribute to its 1968 predecessor but delivers on its own terms.

First thing your probably thinking is why did I put down the monkey as a member of the cast? I mean sure he is the main character but he is a CGI character not played by anyone or even voiced by anybody. But Weta Digital created such a realistic monkey that displays joy, trust, fear, anger and sadness that makes him more believable to the audience. His interactions and relationships with the other monkeys is just amazing and done with no words just a few grunts and clever actions. Eventually you cant help but like the monkey. So Caesar (Monkey) deserves a spot in the casting list.

Now to get back on track. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is such an amazing Movie. Rupert Wyatt does such a great job directing and has a phenomenal acting cast at his disposal that he just creates pure gold. Mind you after Spiderman 3 I wasn't a big fan of James Franco. But this movie changed my views on him. Not to say he deserves an Oscar but it was good seeing him play a more serious role. Also there was Frieda Pinto whose just freaking HOT.

As time progresses and your in a comfort zone of character buildup, you like that person, you hate that person. The movie Just kicks off, like that saying "this is where the shit hits the fan" and literally it does because were talking about monkeys here. The movie just breaks that comfort zone , breaking apart relationships and portraying characters in a different light which has you on the edge of your seat.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a must see movie. it has everything you want in a movie. Great acting, awesome cast, a good amount of action, has its fair share of love scenes. A perfect date movie. It will have her saying "aww how cute" while he's just enjoying monkeys going crazy.

Rating: 5 out of 5

The Spot News: Green Lantern, Going Dark

By: Robert Acosta

Stop me if you've heard this before. A comic book film is going to go darker and edgier. Yeah, you probably stopped me 5 times during that sentence cause that's all we hear from these kind of movies. But yet again, we have another comic book movie going dark. This time, it's Green Lantern.

Now, Green Lantern had a lot of problems. I'm not sure that the "darkness" of its content was one of them though. Not every story has to be dark. Just telling the story will suffice, believe me. You wanna know what you do? Cool, here's what you do. Get Ryan Reynolds out of there, cause he's not Hal Jordan. That's no mark against Reynolds cause he is a tremendous actor, one of my favs and damn entertaining. But he's just not Hal Jordan. Second, no more love stories. Blake Lively, beautiful she may be, has to be reduced in her role in the movie. I want her to be there, just don't consume the story. Finally, let's see a real rivalry going, let's see Green Lantern in some trouble against whoever may be the villain in the movie (though the choice is rather obvious).

Either way, DC is really falling behind, but I'll always hold out hope that one day, something not named Batman or Superman will be good for DC.

"I had a meeting with Stan Lee and we talked about the web-shooters," Webb tells Hero Complex. "I was curious about the incarnation of them [because] of course in the previous films [they went away from them] and we wanted to reestablish ourselves. That was one thing but the other thing was the fact that the web-shooters were able to dramatize Peter’s intellect and I thought that was really cool."

"It was in the comics and we have a different design but it’s a cool element to have," Webb says. "It’s not something we over-use or over-exploit. To me, it’s something I remember from when I was a kid and thinking ‘It would be cool if I could build those.’"

Webb also says that carries over into the design of the outfit: "We paid attention to the question of ‘How would a kid make it?’ And obviously we took some license with it."

"With the costume and the web-shooters we wanted to emphasize that these are things that Peter Parker made and that he is special himself even if he feels like he’s an outsider."

Sony's 3D relaunch stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Rhys Ifans, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson, Irrfan Khan and Annie Parisse. Our high-haired hero swings into theaters on July 3, 2012.

The Spot News: First pics of Bane

By: Robert Acosta

Earlier this morning a post came in of Batman fighting Bane and seemingly, the whole neighborhood. Let's take a closer look at some pics of Bane in the Dark Knight Rising:

So, we have a more traditional style to Bane. Not the hardcore, intense Bane that we're using to seeing in comics, games and even the last film he was featured in. I'm not a huge fan of his look in these pics, but I don't have much of a gripe.

In that 2nd pic, it kind of looks like Bane has ripped up a picture of Harvey Dent. I'm sure it's just Bane's way of saying "Fuck authority".

Bane will be played by Tom Hardy when Dark Knight Rises is out in 2012.

Celeb photo site eyeprime.net has many more photos of Batman fighting Bane on the set of The Dark Knight Rises:

Christian Bale who plays Batman fights actor Tom Hardy who plays villain Bane on the front steps of Gotham City Hall in Pittsburgh, PA on July 31, 2011

At one point in the fight scene Tom Hardy’s pants had a wardrobe malfunction as his whole thigh was showing out of his villain outfit. The scene had hundreds of extras dressed as police men and bad guys fighting. There was also a snow machine on hand blowing onto the scene as they fought.
