Weekend Box Office Numbers 9/17-9/19

After the last couple weeks of seeing the box office being dominated by sub-par movies, glad to see the box office headed by decent movies.

Lets take a look at this past weekends box office numbers:

1. The Town- $23.8 Million
2. Easy A- $18.2 Million
3. Devil- $12.6 Million
4. Resident Evil: Afterlife- $10.1 Million 
5. Alpha and Omega- $9 Million
6. Takers- $3 Million
7. The American- $2.7 Million
8. Inception- $2 Million
9. The Other Guys- $2 Million
10. Machete- $1.7 Million

I was very excited for both The Town and Devil, still haven't had the chance to see either but will be checking them out this week. Glad that they respectively found their way in the top 3 this week. Resident Evil fell to the 4 spot, which doesn't surprise me much. Inception and The Other Guys still hanging around, with Inception nearing the $300 million dollar mark but unlikely that it will make it there. 

Next weekend comes a very slow week, so expect this top ten to look fairly similar next week. Movies like Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'hoole and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps will find their way into the top 10 but I don't see either being number 1 next week.
